Dear Praying Friends,
Praise the LORD! On July 4th, as our country celebrated its independence, Marilyn Wall celebrated her independence from the penalty of sin! Marilyn is the wife of one of our church members. Her husband has been coming to church since our first service. Two of her children were saved at our second service. Marilyn has never been to our church and has nothing to do with us. Her husband and children thrived for awhile in church and were growing and learning but eventually Marilyn got her kids out of church and her husband is not nearly as faithful as he once was. On July 2nd she went into the hospital for emergency surgery for a very large tumor in her ovary. On July 4th her husband called and said that she had requested for Tim to come by and pray with her. We were in shock. We had been praying all along for God to use this to soften her heart. As Tim was leaving for the hospital, Jennifer talked to her mom in NC who had just gotten out of church. They had just had special prayer for Marilyn in the service that night. The Lord moved and Tim was able to share his testimony and the plan of salvation and Marilyn accepted the Lord as her Savior! God still answers prayer! Marilyn is at home recovering from her surgery now. Her tumor was benign. Please keep this family in extra special prayer that the Lord would work in all of their hearts. They desperately need to get in church as a family and serve the Lord together.
On Father’s Day we started a revival with Bro. David Maynard from Clemmons, NC. He was a blessing to our people and we saw some new people from the community come out to the services as well. As always, it was good to have the good Christian fellowship. Mr. & Mrs. Maynard are always a blessing and encouragement to our ministry.
At the end of June two students from Crown College in Powell, TN came to stay with us for a few days and helped Tim around the church. They were able to finish up all of the trim work painting around the church!
We wrote a newsletter that told about our church in July. It told a little of how we got here, our testimony, how we named the church building, the plan of salvation, and all about things going on at church. Macedonia Gospel Publications printed those up for us and they looked wonderful! We put those as an insert into our local paper on Thursday, July 19th. Please help us pray that the Lord would use this as a tool to witness, tell people about us, and invite them to church. This was distributed to 3300 homes throughout our county. What a blessing!
Jennifer’s parents and brother were able to fly out to see us around the end of July. It was a blessing to see them and Jason enjoyed all of the extra attention. On the flight back, Jennifer’s parents had lots of airline problems and were delayed by a whole day. However, thankfully they did make it back to NC safe and sound. Jennifer’s brother flew out a few days later and his trip was just fine. Please keep Jennifer’s whole family in special prayer. This has been an exceedingly difficult year for them in many ways. They truly need the prayers of God’s people right now.
It’s harvest time here in Whitman County. The wheat has turned white now and is truly beautiful swaying to the breezes. Harvesters are already beginning their work which will go through August. It’s the most important time of the year for the people here. However, we are reminded of John 4:35 and know that the spiritual harvest is also ready. We have been sowing the seed in this county for two years now. We are anxiously and prayerfully awaiting the results of the harvest. Please pray with us that the seeds we have sown will grow and produce fruit.
Love in Christ,
Tim and Jennifer Wall
