Dear Pastors and praying
friends,
Greetings again in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I want to
thank all of you for your continued prayers and faithful financial
support each month. I am humbled and grateful for all of your help.
GETTING READY FOR DEPARTURE !
That’s right! Deputation is nearing an end. I told someone
the other day that I am actually going to miss deputation, (except
the phone calling, I won’t miss that) however, the joy and
excitement of finally getting to the field is overwhelming. I have
found though, getting close to leaving can be quite emotional at
times for our family. Sometimes we are overjoyed at the thought.
But other times we are reminded that we are leaving paw paws, nanas,
Pastor Brock, and some of the dearest people close to us. Since
we are not robots, we just have crying times sometimes. But even
in those crying times I find help from the Lord. He reminds me again
that there is a cost to follow Him. “ …they forsook
all, and followed him.” (Luke 5:11) They forsook all to be
fishers of men. And right there I find a new determination to go.
Because I’m not just going; I’m going after the souls
of men! And when I consider the souls of men, I realize the call
to go is not about me, it’s about HIM. Then those crying times
are turned into fuel for the fire that burns in our hearts to get
to South Dakota.
We are currently at 80% of our support level. I am praying about
a departure date of September 15th. We wanted to leave in August.
But I have decided to spend another month on deputation to be as
close to 100% when we go. It would be hard to go after September,
because I feel we need to be there and settled in before winter.
To wait after winter would put us on deputation for nearly three
years. I don’t believe that is the Lord’s will. Please
help us pray about this departure date. Some of you who receive
our letter have told me you are praying about helping us financially.
May I say very humbly, if the Lord leads you to take us on for support,
now would be a good time to do so.
Please continue to pray for our family. We pray for you and love
you all in the Lord.
In His Service,
The Earwood
