Missionary Church Planters in Louisiana

"Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving." Colossians 2:7

As I read this verse, I feel like it could be described as a roadmap for deputation. Deputation is a journey, and it is summed up well in these verses. I see first of all the building of deputation, in the first part of the verse. As we travel on deputation, we are constantly growing in the Lord, being built up in Him. I also see the balance of deputation, as we become more and more established in the faith. There comes a point where we realize that we can only do so much. After we have done our part to do all that we can do, it is truly up to the Lord to take care of the rest. We are learning that it is not up to us, but up to Him. We are more balanced because we know that we can trust Him. Thirdly, we also see the believing of deputation. Deputation is a learning process, we are constantly being taught something new things from a vast number of sources, especially from the Bible and the Lord. Finally, we see the abounding.

As we continue on deputation, we abound more and more with thanksgiving. I know that we are getting close to the time of year when everyone gives thanks, but we should strive to do so more than simply once a year. I want to take the time to give thanks for each and every church that supports us, whether through prayer or financially. I know that we could not do the things we do without you. We need you and we are thankful that you are on our side. More importantly, we are thankful that the God we serve is able. I am excited that we have such a wonderful message to share with the people of southern Louisiana.

Praise
Although we are undeserving, the Lord continues to bless us. We have had some wonderful meetings over the past few months. Praise the Lord for decisions that were made for Him. We also praise the Lord for safety and supply as we travel for our meetings. We have been in a number of churches across the southeast and the Lord has watched over us each mile of the way. Praise His good name. We have also seen some new churches make us part of their missions family. The following churches have made us a part of their mission’s family in the past few months: Mission Baptist Church, Lake Junaluska, NC; Landmark Baptist Church, Locust Grove, GA; Currytown Baptist Church, Lexington, NC. We have also had several churches promise to begin support and others vow to earnestly pray about taking us on.

Prayer Requests
We thank the Lord that with the addition of new churches, we are now at 67% of our needed support. Please continue to pray that God would send in the last 33% quickly. We don’t have nearly as far to go as we have been. We desperately need this remaining support so that we can move and get started with the work the Lord has called us to. Please help us pray.

We would like to schedule meetings for the first part of next year. Help us pray for open doors and that we would be able to effectively share our burden with the churches we are in.

Please continue to pray for our safety and provision as we travel. The Lord has certainly blessed us with safety during our deputation.

Also, a request that is on my heart is that the Lord would begin now to prepare the hearts of the people of St. Tammany parish, specifically Covington and Mandeville, where we plan to work. What a thrill it would be to know that people are ready to receive the Gospel. That is what it is all about, reaching people with the Gospel of Christ.
