| "The same came therefore to Philip,
which was of Bethsaida of Galilee,
and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus." John
12:21
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour. As I read this
verse recently, I was again reminded of the need to go to southern
Louisiana and preach the Gospel of our Lord and Saviour. You see,
the people there have religion. They have their idols and traditions
and all of those things. However, those things are not enough to
get them to heaven. You can have all the religion of this world,
but if you do not have Jesus, it is worthless. What a privilege
that the Lord would call my family to be the ones to go and tell.
How exciting that He has asked us to go and point the way not to
religion, but to Jesus. It is my heart’s desire that the people
of southern Louisiana would see Jesus.
Praise
During a recent trip, our van crossed 100,000 miles. What a blessing
that the Lord has opened so many doors for us to be able to go and
share the need for the Gospel in southern Louisiana. Our schedule
has been busy the past few months and we are grateful for it. As
we travel, we have met numerous people and have been able to share
with them the need for the Gospel. The Lord has been so very good
to us, and we want to thank Him for His provision and safety.
We have also had several new churches take us on for support during
the months of April and May. This now puts us at 40% of our needed
support. Please help us pray that the remainder of the support would
come in quickly so that we can get to the field that God has called
us to. Help us pray that we would be able to be there by Spring
of 2007 or sooner. We want to thank the following churches for making
us a part of their missions family during the past few months: Ostwalt
Baptist Church, Troutman, NC; Wayside Baptist Church, Walnut Cove,
NC; Rock Springs Baptist Church, Kingsport, TN; Whitfield Baptist
Church, Dalton, GA; Peoples Baptist Church, McDonough, GA; Bryant’s
Chapel Baptist Church, Ararat, NC; and Heaven Bound Baptist Church,
Savannah, GA.
Prayer Requests
The month of June will be a busy one, as we will be attending Orientation
at the home office as well as several meetings. Orientation is always
a great time of learning and is a help to make sure we keep our
focus on the job at hand. Please pray for us during this week of
Orientation.
We also ask that you continue to pray that the Lord would lead
more churches to make us a part of their missions family, thereby
helping us get to the field that much quicker.
Again, we are so grateful for your prayers and support. Without
you, we could not serve the Lord as we are. Thank you for entrusting
us to be your light to the people of southern Louisiana.
