O Give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever. Psalm 107:1
We used this verse to open our last prayer letter. As we thought of the things that have happened since then, we couldn’t think of a better verse that this to begin this letter with. On July 21st at 7:50 PM God called my Dad home to be with him. He was a faithful preacher of the Word for 55 years. He was a soldier of the cross and old soldiers never die, they just change fields. We give thanks unto the Lord for he was so good to us as a family to have given us such a Godly example. We have experienced his mercy in a brand new way and we truly believe that it will endure forever! Thank you for your prayers, cards, e-mails, phone calls and flowers. The Lord is good to give us such precious friends. Please continue to remember my family in your prayers, especially my Mom. She and Dad had been married 63 years.
Because of my Dad’s sickness I felt I should cancel and reschedule some meetings so that I could be with my family. I was not able to go to the Mid-Western Camp Meeting in Pierre, South Dakota in July but it was a tremendous success! There was a 18 year old boy that got saved and another young man that answered the call to preach. We praise the Lord for this!
During the month of August we will be out West helping four of our missionaries. Brother Jeff Hawks and Brother Tim Wall in Washington and Brother Danny Vaughn and Brother Kim Harris in Idaho. Brother Kim Harris will be organizing his church, New Life Baptist, and we will be there to help him.
In September we will be in Arizona helping Brother Luther Quintana, one of our missionaries, with a Mission Conference at his church, Welcome Home Baptist. I will also be preaching Mission Conference and a Youth Camp here on this side of the U. S.
A quick up-date on the men that we took up the North East Coast that we mentioned in our last prayer letter. Two of the men are going back to plant churches. One in Massachusetts and one in northern Pennsylvania. Praise the Lord! Also our Orientation in the month of June was probably one of the best we have been at. We had a great time together and we are thankful for the privilege to help train these men and women for the greatest responsibility on this earth, that of carrying the gospel to a lost an dying world.
Thank you for helping us financially and prayerfully so that we might help others |
