Tim's Testimony    Jennifer's Testimony The Wall's field of service

Tim's Testimony

I was saved on June 15, 1997 at the age of 17.  I did not have the privilege to grow up in a Christian home and had never really attended church before.  A co-worker of mine kept urging me to come to church and on June 15, I finally did.  The Lord saved me that Sunday night and changed my life.  Two months later, in August, I surrendered the call to preach.  After graduating high school, I started attending Calvary Baptist Bible College in King, NC under Pastor Roger Baker.

In the summer of 2001, I had the privilege to go with a group of men from Turners Creek Baptist Church in Yadkinville, NC to help a new missionary in Washington State.  This is when the Lord began burdening my soul to go back to Washington State and plant local, fundamental, independent Baptist Churches.  The next summer I had the opportunity to stay six weeks in Washington helping the same missionary.  I was able to preach, teach Sunday school and Vacation Bible School, knock on doors, witness, and get acquainted with the people there.  I was also able to take a survey trip of the entire state of Washington to see where God would have me to go.  God lay on my heart the town of Colfax located in Whitman County, which has 40,000 people without one Independent Bible believing Baptist Church.  Whitman County is on the southeastern side of Washington and borders Idaho.  Colfax is the county seat and located in the middle of the county.  In 2003, I was able to take my new bride out to Washington with me.  We stayed a week and did a lot of surveying and research in Colfax.

I was accepted with Macedonia World Baptist Missions in May of 2002.  I officially began deputation in September of 2002.  However, I got married in December of 2002, so deputation really got off in full swing in January of 2003.  The Lord has richly blessed us with numerous meetings this year to come and present our work.  Our goal is to leave for the field by the end of August 2004.

Jennifer's Testimony

I was very fortunate to have grown up in a Christian home.  My parents were active members of our local church and both saved, born again Christians.  I am so thankful for parents who cared enough about me to take me to church every time the doors were open.  I am also thankful for parents who talked to me about the Lord and who I heard audibly praying for me.  On November 26, 1985, my father led me to Christ at home in my bedroom.  It was a Wednesday night and we had just come from church.  I kept asking him questions about what the preacher said, and so he explained the plan of salvation to me and I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior.  I had just turned five years old the month before.  I am so thankful to have been saved at a young age and brought up in church.

In July of 2003, I traveled to Washington State for a week and my eyes were opened to the people there, particularly in Colfax.  I saw a close nit community of caring people who were lost and going to hell.  I saw a community where people lived their whole lives and never heard the gospel.  As I looked over the beautiful rolling hills of wheat, my mind went back to where Jesus said the fields are white unto harvest.  A song came into my heart.  "My house is full, but my field is empty.  Who will go and work for me today?  It seems my children all want to stay around my table, but no one wants to work in my field."  I knew then that the Lord was calling me to go and work in his field.

Currently I am teaching fourth and fifth grade in an exceptional children's class working with students who have mild mental retardation.  The Lord has really blessed me in this position and opened doors for me to witness to my students and co-workers.  This will be my last year teaching as Tim and I prepare to go to Washington State.  I am anxiously awaiting being full time in the ministry and winning souls to Jesus in Washington State.

Our Burden for Washington State

My name is Tim Wall and my wife's name is Jennifer.  We are missionaries to the state of Washington.  We attend Missions Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC.  Jennifer grew up in church and was saved at the age of 5 years old.  I did not attend church growing up.  One day a co-worker of mine started witnessing to me about the Lord.  About a month passed and I decided to go to his church.  On June 15, 1997, God saved me by His grace.  Two months later the Lord called me to preach.  In the fall of 1999 I started Bible College at Calvary Baptist Bible College in King, NC.  I graduated on May 30, 2003 with my bachelors in Theology.

Jennifer and I will be working in Whitman County.  According to the 2002 census the population of Whitman County is 40,740 people.  The city of Colfax is the County seat of Whitman.  It has a population of 2844 people in the inner city.  However, there are thousands of people living in the local area and surrounding cities.  Pullman is just 16 miles south of Colfax with a population of 25,000 people.  Washington State University is location in Pullman where thousands of students attend.  There is not one independent Baptist work in the whole county of Whitman.  Whitman County is not alone.  There are several surrounding counties that have no gospel witness.  The Bible says, "How shall they hear without a preacher" (Romans 10:14). Our prayer and heart's desire is to bring the gospel to the people in Washington State where there are no fundamental, Bible-Believing churches.  We are church planters and our goal is to plant self-governing, self-supporting, self-propagating churches in Washington State starting in Colfax, Washington.  We plan to do this by knocking on doors, preaching the gospel, and sharing the love of Jesus Christ with the people.
